Sky Power’s UAV engines are characterized by their sophisticated standard configurations, which offer a high degree of flexibility and can be adapted to individual user requirements. Sky Power’s standard UAV engine configurations are designed to provide both maximum power and flexibility. The wide range of options, ease of customization and availability of accessory solutions make the engines suitable for almost any UAV application – from commercial to ISR missions.
Customizable run-in program
The run-in program of the engine can be adapted to the specific requirements of the end user. This adaptability ensures that the engines operate under ideal conditions right from the start and can develop their maximum performance.
Compression relief valves for easy handling
For engines with less than 3.30 cu in cylinder capacity, it is possible to use manually operated compression relief valves. These considerably facilitate starting the engine.
For engines with a cylinder capacity of 20.68 cu or more, manual compression relief valves are also available as an option. These reduce the load on the crankshaft, especially when using an external, powerful electric starter. They also allow easy stopping and restarting of the engine during flight, which requires the use of an on-board starter or starter/alternator unit.
Flexible engine design for external components
Sky Power’s UAV engines are designed for a variety of additional components, which expand their application possibilities:
Engine mounting plate
The engines' standard mounting plate allows the addition of a fourth ball bearing to support the rear output shaft. If a starter or alternator unit is to be installed, only the mounting plate needs to be adapted. Generator mounting plates for various generator manufacturers are also available.
Rear output shaft
This is a standard feature and allows the installation of alternators, electric starters or starter/alternator units. However, this standard is not applicable for rear induction engines.
Optimized performance with Sky Power silencers
To ensure maximum efficiency and performance of the engines, Sky Power recommends the use of its own silencers. These are specially adapted to the engines and offer optimum performance. Customer-specific solutions can also be developed on request to meet special requirements.
Availability of 3D models
For precise integration into existing systems, Sky Power provides 3D models of the engines and components on request. These facilitate the planning and development of individual UAV solutions and guarantee seamless adaptation to the respective application.
